This week The Coaching Inn Group welcome not one, not two, but three stunning new locations to the family. The Moorland Hotel, The Jamaica Inn, and The Swan Hotel are all situated in popular holiday destinations with plenty of places to explore.
The Moorland Hotel is set in the desirable location of Dartmoor, sitting at the base of Haytor. The hotel has seen visits from famous figures including Agatha Christie; who wrote her first novel while staying at The Mooreland. This beautiful site boasts panoramic views across the moorland and tor tops, and is perfect for walking holidays.
The Jamaica Inn is a renowned hotel in Cornwall, made famous by Daphne du Maurier’s best-selling novel ‘Jamaica Inn’ following her enforced stay in November 1930. The inn has 36 bedrooms, including carefully preserved ‘old rooms’, keeping the historic charm. There is also a Smuggling Museum, showing off various artifacts bringing stories to life.
The Swan Hotel is situated with a stunning view of the Wells Cathedral from many of its rooms. It has recently had a refurbishment to it’s the 50 bedrooms, suites and apartments but still holds the original charm. The Swan is thought to be the oldest permanently trading hostelry in the UK, after welcoming its first guests over 600 years ago.
Kevin Charity, Chief Executive of The Coaching Inn Group, said:
“I am pleased to have increased our presence in the South West with this trio of acquisitions – including potentially the most famous Inn in Britain with The Jamaica Inn. All three inns are incredibly high-quality additions to The Coaching Inn Group that expand our portfolio in popular holiday locations in the UK focusing on areas of natural beauty. We look forward to preserving the history of each inn, which has served as an attraction for tourists and guests.”
